Most of the work we do in Coronado comes from someone who has had us out before, or from a neighbor of theirs. That is the only marketing this trade really has.

Two other outfits had been out and both wanted to talk about the compressor. This guy took the panel off, showed me the toe kick had been closed in during the remodel and the thing had nowhere to dump its heat. Opened the vent path up and the run time dropped straight away.
Cubes had gone small and hollow and half of them were stuck together. I was ready to buy a new ice maker. He measured the water pressure at the valve first, the valve was furred up with scale, and the filter was years overdue. Cheaper than I expected.
Our range is a Wolf and the oven had been running cool for a while, everything coming out pale and taking longer than the recipe said. They handled it along with the refrigerator on the same visit, which I did not expect from a company with Sub-Zero in the name.

What people actually comment on
Almost never the repair itself — a working refrigerator is what was expected. What comes up again and again is the part around it: that the arrival window was real, that the price quoted was the price charged, and that the technician explained what had failed rather than presenting a total.
The second thing is that the appliance was serviced where it stood. Built-in units are fitted into cabinetry, often with stone worktops and panelled doors around them, and dragging one out to look at it risks more than the fault ever did. On this equipment the condenser is reached through the grille and the sealed system is designed for access in place.
Repairs that did not happen
Some of these reviews are for visits where nothing was replaced: a door seal reseated, a drain cleared, a filter that had never been changed. It is worth saying plainly that a diagnosis which ends in "this does not need a part" is a successful visit, and it is charged as a diagnosis rather than a repair.
